A Study on the Corresponding Relationship of Checked Tone Syllable Codas of Chinese Characters between Japanese and Hakka Dialects
The corresponding relationship of checked tone syllable codas between Chinese characters in Japanese and Hakka dialects is relatively regular.Among the 391 Chinese characters with checked tone syllable codas,281 Chinese characters are consistent in the corresponding relationship,namely checked tone[-d]corresponding[-つ/-ち],checked tone[-g]corre-sponding[-く/-き],checked tone[-b]corresponding[-う(ふ)].However,77 Chinese characters in Hakka dialect have e-volved from checked tone[-g]to checked tone[-d],resulting in inconsistency with the type of syllable codas in Japanese.In addition,33 Chinese characters have irregular corresponding relationship in Japanese and Hakka dialect.
