Shakov was a famous proletarian revolutionary,educator,and artist in China.He made significant contributions to the art education during the Central Soviet Area and Yan'an periods.However,currently,the academic research on Shakov mainly focuses on the Yan'an period and after,with little attention paid to his artistic contributions during the Central Soviet Area period.In fact,dur-ing the period of the Central Soviet Area,Shakov played an important role in leading and demonstrating the prosperity of red art.For example,he advocated the artistic concept of"serving the revolution",promoted the organized red art activities by the"Workers'and Peasants'Drama Society",cultivated red art creative talents through the Blue Shirt School,and created more than 20 red songs and multiple red dramas.His red art activities greatly promoted the development of red literature and art in the Central Soviet Area,and provided valuable experience for the prosperity of red literature and art in the later Yan'an period.
