The study of Guo Dali's translation of Capital has great practical and theoretical significance.Guided by corpus transla-tion studies,the linguistic features at the lexical and syntactic levels in Guo Dali's translation of Capital are analyzed and show such findings as fewer vocabulary categories,words with less variation,shorter average word length,a tendency to"abbreviate",less infor-mation load and reading difficulty,as well as clear referents,explicit functional words,more specific expressions and connective words.In addition to those,the number and ratio of"Ba"sentences are more than those in the referenced original Chinese corpus,and the"Ba"sentences are of mixed length.The reasons for the above features may stem from the translators being influenced by the char-acteristics of the source language,their empathy with the difficulties in understanding the original text and their original purpose of the translation.
