Research on the International Image of Cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Based on the NOW Corpus
As a national-level city cluster with frequent foreign economic,technological,and cultural exchanges,the Guang-dong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been attracting much attention from domestic and overseas media since its estab-lishment.This paper combines the NOW corpus and discourse analysis to analyze the high-frequency collocations in the con-cordance of overseas English media reports on the Greater Bay Area,investigating the international image of the Greater Bay Area shaped by overseas English media.It found that overseas English-language media focus on the development of the Greater Bay Area in terms of development planning,economy,technology innovations well as communication and collaboration,etc.The study constructs an international image of the Greater Bay Area cities as a place of economic development,technological in-novation,careful planning,and interconnectedness of city clusters.
