Comprehensively promoting the construction of ideological and political education in the curriculum is a strategic initiative for universities to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue and talent.The nature of language courses in College English makes it very suitable for conducting ideological and political education in the curriculum.This article,based on the"Production-oriented Approach"teaching philosophy,discusses a"Smart Production-oriented Ideological and Political Teaching Model"that organically integrates ideological and political education with College English teaching.It is starting with the exploration of ideological elements in teaching units,utilizing smart teaching methods,and coordinating the shaping of students'values with language knowledge learning and skills development,the model unifies humanistic and instrumental teach-ing in English instruction.
