The Relationship between Attachment Anxiety and Depression in College Students——The Role of Stress Perception and Trait Mindfulness
To explore the relationship between attachment anxiety and college students'depression,as well as the roles of stress perception and trait mindfulness,377 college students were assessed using the Center for Epidemiological Studies De-pression Scale, the Adult Attachment Scale, the Chinese 14-item Perceived Stress Scale, and the Five Facet Mindfulness Ques-tionnaire.The results indicated that attachment anxiety significantly and positively predicts depression in college students.Ad-ditionally,stress perception partially mediates the relationship between attachment anxiety and depression.Trait mindfulness serves as a moderating factor between attachment anxiety and stress perception. These findings suggest that attachment anxiety can directly influence college students'depression and indirectly affect it through stress perception. Moreover, trait mindfulness can mitigate the negative impacts of attachment anxiety and stress perception on depression in college students.
