Investigating the Reflective Mechanism for University Counselors through the Lens of Embodied Cognition
The burgeoning field of embodied cognition offers novel insights for enhancing the efficacy of university counsel-ors'practices,underscoring the importance of establishing a robust mechanism for counselors'reflective processes.Within the framework of embodied cognition, the act of reflection among university counselors is made manifest through physical engage-ment and is integrated into the fabric of their professional context, drawing sustenance from the dynamics of the body's opera-tional systems.Currently, there are several shortcomings in the reflective practices of university counselors, including an ab-sence of physical articulation of reflection, subpar outcomes of reflective efforts,a paucity of interactive settings leading to a di-luted atmosphere for reflection, and a lack of initiative resulting in inadequate motivational forces for reflection.Consequently,it is imperative to construct mechanisms that facilitate embodied contemplation, interpersonal engagement through embodi-ment,and the enhancement of intrinsic motivation for reflection among counselors, thereby substantively augmenting their ca-pacity for introspection.
