The modernization of opera has been a crucial theme in the development of Chinese opera over the past century.Throughout this transition from traditional to modern,Chinese opera has explored various changes to survive and thrive.The modernization of Chinese opera is an inevitable trend for its survival and development in modern society.Placing the Tea-Pick-ing Opera of Southern Jiangxi and Northern Guangdong within the context of opera modernization,this study uses contempora-ry concepts and methods to explore the modern adaptation of Southern Jiangxi Tea-Picking Opera and Northern Guangdong Tea-Picking Opera.It focuses on the core spirit of current opera modernization,modern performance forms,and the construc-tion of an opera discourse system.Meanwhile,it also scrutinizes the establishment of effective mechanisms to ensure the mod-ern adaptation of traditional opera.
