Objective:To explore the clinical characteristics of tracheobronchial foreign bodies in adults and to improve clinicians'diagnosis and treatment of tracheobronchial foreign bodies in adults.Methods:The clinical data of 40 hospitalized adult patients diagnosed with tracheobronchial foreign bodies from October 2019 to June 2022 in The First Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical University were retrospectively analyzed.Results:Of the 40 patients,25(62.5%)were male and 15(37.5%)were female,with a mean age of(62.2±16.6)years old;26 cases(65.0%)had no clear history of foreign body aspiration;the most common site of foreign body was the lower lobe of the right lung,accounting for 12 cases(30.0%);of the 40 patients,37 cases(92.5%)were successfully removed by bronchoscopy.Conclusion:The onset of tracheobronchial foreign bodies in adults is occult and the clinical manifestations lack specificity.Most patients do not have a clear history of foreign body inhalation.Bronchoscopy is an effective approach to the diagnosis and treatment of tracheobronchial foreign bodies.
