Relationship between serum homocysteine,D-dimer and lipoprotein a levels and the prognosis in patients with transient ischemic attack
Objective:To investigate the relationship between serum homocysteine(Hcy),D-dimer(D-D)and lipoprotein a levels and the prognosis in patients with transient ischemic attack(TIA).Methods:A total of 87 TIA patients(study group)and 35 healthy volunteers(control group)who underwent physical examination during the same period in the Second People's Hospital of Zhengzhou from January 2021 to January 2024 were retrospectively selected.Serum Hcy,D-D and lipoprotein a levels were compared between the study group and control group.Patients in the study group were classified as low-risk(0-3),medium-risk(4-7),and high-risk(8-13)according to the Stroke Risk Assessment Tool(ABCD~3-I)scores developed on the basis of age, blood pressure, symptoms, diabetes mellitus+symptom duration. The patients were followed up for six months and divided into a poor prognosis group(recurrent TIA,stroke,or death due to illness)and a good prognosis group based on their prognosis.Serum Hcy,D-D and lipoprotein a levels in patients with different risks stratification were analyzed.Univariate analysis and multivariate Logistic regression were used to analyze the prognostic risk factors of TIA.Results:The levels of Hcy,D-D and lipoprotein a in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of Hcy,D-D and lipoprotein a in the high-risk group, the medium-risk group, and the low-risk group decreased in sequence. There were significant differences between any two groups(P<0.05).Total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol,Hcy,D-D,and lipoprotein a levels in the poor prognosis group were higher than those in the good prognosis group, and the level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol was lower than those in the good prognosis group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that Hcy,D-D,and lipoprotein a were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of TIA patients(P<0.05).Conclusions:Serum Hcy,D-D,and lipoprotein a levels in patients with TIA are significantly highly-expressed,which are closely related to the severity and prognosis of the patients.
