Optimization of the Method for Determining the Minimum Night Flow of Water Supply Network
The minimum night flow(MNF)in the water supply network plays an important role in evaluating the degree of leakage, and its numerical value has a significant impact on the accuracy of the evaluation. This article conducted a minimum night flow monitoring experiment on the water supply network in a certain city,Guangdong Province,to study the influence of fixed value time, matching time period, and value interval on the minimum night flow value.Based on this,we explored a more reasonable method for determining the minimum night flow. The research results showed that the minimum night flow was smaller than the minimum nighttime flow time flow(MNFTF),which was about 5.18%lower;The matching time range was not limited to 02:00 am to 04:00 am;When the value intervals were 10,15,20,30,60,90,120 min,the MNF values were 15.7%,22.95%,27.81%,33.00%,42.08%,49.39%,and 60.34%higher than those of 5 min, respectively. This indicated that there was significant room for optimization in the method of obtaining a smaller minimum night flow.In China,it was recommended to relax the matching time range to 00:00 am to 06:00 am for the minimum night flow, shorten the value interval as much as possible, and prioritize methods with variable value times.
