Preparation and Performance Investigation of Cationic Modified Starch Flocculant
Modified cationic flocculants with high efficiency and low toxicity were prepared from corn starch with acrylamide and 2,3-epoxy-propyl trimethyl ammonium chloride as graf-ted copolymers.Taking grafting rate and grafting efficiency as objective functions, single fac-tor experiment and orthogonal experiment were designed to explore the optimal preparation conditions of the experiment, and then the optimal flocculation environment of the experimen-tal products was explored through kaolin simulated wastewater samples. The experimental results showed that when the dosage of etherifying agent GTA was 0.8 g/L,the dosage of NaOH was 0.1 g,the reaction temperature was 60 ℃,and the reaction time was 3 h,the grafting rate reached 80%and the grafting efficiency reached 81%.In the test of kaolin wastewater simulation water sample, the flocculation effect of the product is the best in the weak alkali environment at 40℃,and the flocculation rate can reach 94%.
