Effects of different rootstocks on volatile components in fruit pericarp of Meihuajiao Zanthoxylum bungeanum
[Objective]In order to provide the reference for the selection of rootstocks of Meihuajiao Zanthoxylum bungeanum, the study explored the effect of different rootstocks on volatile components in the pericarp of Z.bungeanum.[Method]Three kinds of scion/rootstock combinations,i.e.,Meihuajiao/Ch-uanshanhuajiao,Meihuajiao/Qiyuejiao and Meihaujiao/Bayuejiao,were used as the materials, which were denoted as YJ,QJ,and BJ,respectively, with the seedling of Meihuajiao as the control(MJ).The volatile components in the pericarp of different treatments were determined by using solid-phase microextraction combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.[Result]There were 10 categories of 210 volatile components detected in the pericarp of four varieties of Z.bungeanum, including terpenoids, esters, ketones, heterocyclic components, hydrocarbons, etc.Compared with the control, there were 4,9 and 9 different vola-tile components in three kinds of scion/rootstock combinations(YJ、QJ、BJ),respectively. From the perspec-tive of specific-differential volatile components,YJ was much closer to the control material.More esters were accumulated in QJ,and the content of terpenoids was increased in BJ.[Conclusion]The materials Qi-yuejiao and Bayuejiao had a positive effect in enhancing the aroma of Meihuajiao Z.bungeanum, which there-fore could be used as the ideal rootstocks for the grafting of Meihuajiao Z.bungeanum.
