Comparative study of the effects of olive oil rich in hydroxytyrosol and zeaxanthin pigment on aging mice
[Objective]To study the effects of olive oil rich in hydroxyl tyrosol(OHT)and zeaxanthin(OZT)on aging mice.[Method]A subacute aging model of mice was established by subcutaneous injection of 5% D-galactose solution in the neck at a dose of 0.5 mL/10 g for 42 days, the mice were randomly di-vided into model group(model group),vitamin E control group(VE group),olive oil group(OL),OHT group and OZT group, normal saline was used as CK(0)group,After continuous gavage for 28 days,to analysis the effects of different doses of OHT and OZT on body weight, serum levels of SOD,CAT,GSH-PX,ALT,AST and MDA,IL-2 and IFN-γ in aging mice were analyzed.[Result]In D-galactose-induced aging mice,OHT and OZT controlled the body weight of aging mice(P<0.05),decreased the activities of SOD,CAT,GSH-Px,ALT and AST in serum(P<0.05,P<0.01),IL-2 and IFN-γ production were sig-nificantly increased(P<0.05,P<0.01),the contents of MDA were decreased(P<0.05,P<0.01),The pathological changes of liver were improved, and the effect of OZT was significantly better than that of OHT.[Conclusion]OHT and OZT have a good therapeutic effect on the subacute aging model induced by D-galactose,which may be attributed to their ability to effectively improve the antioxidant capacity of mice and enhance the effect of delaying aging.
