Evaluation of the importance of ecological protection in the Zhuanglang River Basin
[Objective]This study aimed to determine the level of ecological protection importance in the Zhuanglang River Basin and its spatial distribution, laying a foundation for territorial spatial planning, ecological protection and high-quality development.[Method]The evaluation of the ecosystem's compre-hensive service function and the ecological environment's comprehensive sensitivity in the watershed was conducted using the simplified model method and NPP quantitative index method, resulting in different lev-els of importance.[Result]The ecologically important areas in the Zhuanglang River Basin accounted for 52.56% of the total area, primarily concentrated in the upper reaches and lower reaches, which were ecologi-cally important and sensitive areas, respectively. The predominant land use type in these areas was grass-land.Biodiversity and soil and water conservation dominated the integrated ecosystem services, while eco-logical sensitivity was mainly categorized as extremely sensitive, with land desertification being the primary ecological problem.[Conclusion]In conclusion, the Zhuanglang River Basin exhibited extremely high eco-logical sensitivity and an important comprehensive ecological service function. The spatial distribution of land use types aligns with ecological importance and sensitivity. The spatial distribution of land use type was basically consistent with ecological importance and ecological sensitivity.Land space optimization should focus on the orderly withdrawal of cultivated and construction land from areas with crucial ecological protection.Ecological restoration efforts should prioritize preventing land desertification resulting from land use and enhancing water conservation capacity.
