Detection and evaluation of disease resistance in 144 tomato germplasm resources
[Objective]To analyze and evaluate the multi-resistance of different materials in order to provide more high quality germplasm resources for tomato breeding.[Method]144 tomato germplasm re-sources were tested and inoculated in the laboratory using five molecular markers of disease resistance genes, namely Ty-1,I-2,Ph-3,Cf-9 and Mi-1,which are currently widely used.[Result]Of the 144 mate-rials tested,22 materials contained only one type of resistance gene, accounting for 15%;76 materials con-tained two types of resistance genes, accounting for 53%;38 materials contained three types of resistance genes, accounting for 26%;8 materials contained four types of resistance genes, accounting for 6%;no mate-rials containing five resistance genes at the same time were detected, including 88 materials containing Ty-1 gene, accounting for 61%;63 materials containing I-2 gene, accounting for 44%;48 materials containing Ph-3 gene, accounting for 33%;68 materials containing Cf-9 gene, accounting for 47%.There were 53 ma-terials containing Mi-1 gene, accounting for 37%.[Conclusion]The materials containing 2 resistance genes were the most, and the materials containing 4 resistance genes were the least. The materials contain-ing 4 kinds of resistance genes were identified by indoor inoculation, and their resistance levels were all up to(R)or above. The combination of molecular marker detection technology and indoor inoculation identifi-cation can quickly and accurately select tomato multi-resistance breeding resources.
