Preliminary Report on the Comparison Experiment of New Potato Varieties in the Southern Shallow Mountainous Area of Wuwei
The diversity,disorder,and mixture of potato varieties are the main factors currently restricting the development of the potato industry in the Wuwei area.To select high-quality,high-yielding,and disease-resistant potato varieties suitable for the main potato-producing areas in southern Wuwei,and to address issues such as variety degradation,weakened disease resistance,and low yield in the Wuwei area,comparative trials were conducted on 11 newly introduced potato varieties in the shallow mountainous areas of southern Wuwei.The results showed that the mid-late maturing potato variety Qingshu 9 and the mid-maturing potato variety Xisen 6 had good adaptability,high yield potential,and better disease resistance,with yields of 61 239.0 and 55 861.5 kg/ha,respectively.These yields represented an increase of 21.91%and 11.20%,respectively,compared to the control variety Longshu 10.They can serve as alternative varieties to the main locally cultivated Longshu 10 for promotion in the main potato-producing areas of the southern hilly region of Wuwei City.
