Preliminary Report on the Introduction and Comparative Experiment of New Broad Bean Varieties
Identifying new broad bean varieties suitable for planting is crucial for promoting the high-quality development of the broad bean industry.Using the locally perennially grown Maya broad bean as a control,five new broad bean varieties were introduced for field experiment and major nutritional component analysis in Lintan County.The results showed that both Lincan 10 and Qinghai 13 produced higher yields than the control variety Maya broad bean,with yields of 5 962.98 and 5 437.62 kg/ha,respectively,an increase of 13.85%and 3.82%over the control.These can be further cultivated in Lintan County.Qingcan 14,with higher contents of protein,crude fiber,carbohydrates,and gross energy,can be used as a specialized variety in Lintan County.
