Study on Nutritional Growth and Development Patterns of Summer and Autumn Carrots on the Plateau
In order to study the growth and development of vegetative organs in non-early bolting plants of plateau summer and autumn carrots, the fresh weight, dry weight and sink activity of stems and leaves and fleshy roots of 3 different carrot varieties were measured by using the method of plateau summer and autumn open field test for 2 consecutive years. The results showed that the fresh and dry weight of the stems and leaves and the fleshy roots of 3 carrot varieties were gradually increased. In the rapid growth period of the leaf, the dry weight of the stems and leaves and the fleshy roots in the bolting resistant carrots were significantly higher than those inbolting carrots.Furthermore, under the long sunny conditions in summer and autumn, the sink activity of bolting resistant carrots was significantly higher than that of that of early bolting carrot, indicating that the stronger sink activity may be one of the internal reasons why carrots are less prone to early bolting.
