Effects of Exogenous Selenium Addition on the Yield,Nutritional Quality, and Heavy Metal Enrichment of Agaricus bisporus
This study investigated effects of different methods of exogenous selenium addition into the the cultivation material, soil cover, cultivation material and soil cover on the yield, nutritional quality, and heavy metal enrichment in Agaricus bisporus, using sodium selenite. The results indicated that in the early stages of growth, selenium content in A.bisporus from the cultivation material and soil cover and soil cover treatments was higher than in the cultivation material treatment alone, showing a significant enrichment effect.Selenium content in A.bisporus under the cultivation material, soil cover selenium addition treatments maintained good stability throughout the growth cycle.Adding selenium to the cultivation substrate significantly increased the yield of A.bisporus, especially during the second tide.Exogenous selenium addition also enhanced the protein content in A.bisporus, improving their fruiting body nutritional quality. In conclusion, adding selenium to the cultivation substrate can increase the yield of the fruiting bodies and improve the nutritional quality of A.bisporus in production.
