Comparative study on glycyrrhizic acid and liquiritin contents in different medicinal parts of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma
Objective To compare the contents of glycyrrhizic acid and liquiritin in taproot, modified subterra-neous stem and fibrous root of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. Methods HPLC was used to determine the contents of two index components(glycyrrhizic acid, liquiritin)in taproot, modified subterraneous stem and fibrous root of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. The determination was performed on Thermo Hypersil Gold-C18(4.6 mm × 250.0 mm,5 μm)column with mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile-0.5%phosphate water at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min.The detection wavelength was 254 nm for glycyrrhizic acid and 275 nm for liquiritin. The column tem-perature was 30℃.The sample size was 10 pL.Results The regression equations of liquiritin and glycyrrhizic acid were Y=2×10-6X-13905(r=0.9999),Y=699 804X-9419(r=0.9999),and the linear ranges were 0.172~2.064 and 0.218~2.616 μg,respectively. The average sample recovery rate was 96.50%,96.06%,RSD was 1.70%,1.03%;the average content of 2 index components in taproots was the highest, followed by modified subterraneous stems, and the lowest in fibrous roots. Conclusion The contents of glycyrrhizic acid and liquiritin in taproot,modi-fied subterraneous stem and fibrous root of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma are different. In order to ensure the effec-tiveness of clinical medication, the medicinal part should be selected reasonably.
