Effect of ultrasound-guided deep needling at Daimai point(GB26)on the contraction ratio of transversus abdominis and postural control ability in stroke patients with hemiplegia
Objective To observe the effect of ultrasound-guided deep needling at Daimai point(GB26)on the contraction ratio of transversus abdominis(Tra)and postural control ability in stroke patients with hemiplegia.Me-thods 64 stroke patients with hemiplegia were randomly divided into control group and treatment group,32 cases in each group,3 cases dropped out during treatment in both groups, and finally 29 cases were observed. Both groups were treated with conventional therapy(internal medicine basic treatment, rehabilitation treatment, and conventional acupuncture). On this basis, the treatment group received precise acupuncture of bilateral Daimai points to the Tra muscle abdomen under ultrasound guidance. After 3 weeks of treatment, the Tra contraction ratio of the healthy and affected sides was measured by ultrasound before and after treatment in two groups of patients who completed ab-dominal drawing-in maneuver(ADIM)and abdominal curling(AC);meanwhile the postural assessment scale for stroke patients(PASS)and Berg balance scale(BBS)scores of two groups before and after treatment were com-pared.Results After treatment,at the completion of ADIM,the Tra contraction ratio on the affected side in the treatment group was significantly higher compared to before treatment in the same group and after treatment in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05);At the completion of AC,the bilateral Tra contraction ratio in the treatment group was significantly higher compared to before treatment in the same group and after treatment in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).After treatment, the PASS and BBS scores of both groups significantly increased, with a statistically significant difference compared to before treatment in the same group(P<0.05),and the treatment group showed a more significant increase, with a statistically significant difference com-pared to after treatment in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Deep needling at Daimai point under ultra-sound guidance can effectively increase the Tra contraction ratio on the affected side of stroke patients with hemiple-gia,which is beneficial for improving their ability to maintain dynamic and static stability, control posture, and main-tain balance, and restore mobility.
