Clinical observation on 49 cases of spleen deficiency phlegm-dampness syndrome of prediabetes treated by Renshen Xiaoke Yin(人参消渴饮)combined with cognitive education
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Renshen Xiaoke Yin(人参消渴饮)combined with cognitive education in the treatment of spleen deficiency phlegm-dampness syndrome of prediabetes.Methods Ninety-eight prediabetic patients presenting with spleen deficiency phlegm-dampness syndrome were randomly as-signed to either a control group or a treatment group using random number table method,with 49 cases in each group.The control group received metformin hydrochloride tablets,while the treatment group was administered Ren-shen Xiaoke Yin combined with cognitive education.Both groups underwent a 12-week course of treatment.Following treatment,the clinical efficacy between the two groups was compared,along with SF-36 scores,TCM syndrome scores,body mass index(BMI),homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR),fasting blood glucose(FBG),HbA1c and fasting insulin(FINS)levels before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate was 63.27%(31/49)in the control group and 85.71%(42/49)in the treatment group,demonstrating statistically significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05).After treatment,TCM syndrome scores,BMI,HOMA-IR,FBG,HbA1c and FINS levels significantly decreased in both groups while SF-36 scores significantly increased,with statistical significance compared with the same group before treatment(P<0.05).These improvements were more pronounced in the treatment group which also showed statistically significant differences when compared to the con-trol group post-treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Renshen Xiaoke Yin combined with cognitive education for spleen deficiency phlegm-dampness syndrome of prediabetes not only effectively improves insulin resistance and glycolipid metabolism but also enhances physical and mental health outcomes for patients.Its comprehensive effects are signifi-cant,so it is worthy of clinical application.
