Clinical observation of pain sensitivity reaction of auricular points in primary dysmenorrhea patients with syndrome of cold coagulation and blood stasis
Objective To observe the tenderness pain reaction of 8 auricular points[endocrine(CO18),sub-cortex(AT4),liver(CO12),kidney(CO10),Tingjiao(CO8),Jiaogan(AH6a),internal genitals(TF2)and Shen-men(TF4)]in primary dysmenorrhea patients with syndrome of cold coagulation and blood stasis and healthy peo-ple during menstruation, and to analyze the relationship between auricular points and primary dysmenorrhea with syndrome of cold coagulation and blood stasis. Methods 30 female college students with primary dysmenorrhea(2 cases dropped off and 28 cases completed the observation)were enrolled as the dysmenorrhea group, and 30 healthy subjects were enrolled as the healthy group.8 auricular points(endocrine, subcortex, liver, kidney,Tingjiao,Jiaogan, internal genitals and Shenmen)were selected to evaluate the tenderness pain reaction of the 8 auricular points by visual analog scale(VAS).The mechanical pain threshold values of the aforementioned 8 auricular points were investigated using a handheld pain threshold test instrument.Additionally, the pain response patterns of these auricular points in primary dysmenorrhea patients with syndrome of cold coagulation and blood circulation were also examined. Results The tenderness pain VAS scores of 8 auricular points(endocrine, subcortex, liver, kidney,Tingjiao,Jiaogan, internal genitals and Shenmen)in dysmenorrhea group were higher than those in healthy group during menstruation, and the difference in tenderness pain VAS scores of Tingjiao acupoint was statistically signifi-cant(P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in tenderness pain VAS scores of Tingjiao and internal genital acupoints between menstrual period and non-menstrual period in dysmenorrhea group(P<0.05).Conclusion The pain sensitivity degree of Tingjiao acupoint in primary dysmenorrhea patients with syndrome of cold coagula-tion and blood stasis is higher than that of healthy people in menstrual period;the pain sensitivity degree of Tingjiao acupoint of the patients in menstrual period is higher than that in non-menstrual period, which can provide an im-portant reference for the diagnosis and treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.
