Analysis of acupoint selection rules in treatment of functional constipation with catgut embedding
Objective To analyze the acupoint selection rules of acupoint catgut embedding in the treatment of functional constipation(FC)by using the cloud platform software of ancient and modern medical records.Methods Chinese and English databases were searched,and clinical research literature on acupoint catgut embedding for FC from database inception to December 2021 was collected.Prescriptions were extracted,and the meridians,high-frequency acupoints,high-frequency specific points,and core prescriptions selected for acupoint catgut embedding for FC were analyzed using ancient and modern medical case cloud platform software.Results 173 articles were ultimately included,involving 9 meridians,49 acupoints,and 8 specific acupoints.The top three meridians are the Foot Yangming Stomach,Foot Taiyang Bladder,and Ren meridian.The top five acupoints are Tianshu(ST25),Dachangshu(BL25),Zusanli(ST36),Shangjuxu(ST37),and Qihai(BL24).The top three specific acupoints are front mu points,lower he-sea points,and back-Shu points(BL12).Among front mu points and lower he-sea points,the most frequently used ones are the front mu points[Tianshu,Guanyuan(BL26),Zhongwan(RN12)]and lower he-sea points[Shangjuxu,Xiajuxu(ST39),Zusanli]of the small,large intestine and stomach,and the back-Shu acupoints[Dachangshu,Shenshu(BL21),and Pishu(BL19)]of the large intestine,kidney,and spleen.The top five acupoint pairs include Tianshu-Dachangshu,Dachangshu-Tianshu,Tianshu-Zusanli,Zusanli-Tianshu,and Zusanli-Dachangshu;the acupoints were divided into 4 associations and 6 categories by community analysis and cluster analysis,respectively.Complex network analysis yields one core prescription.Conclusion The general principles of acupoint catgut embedding treatment for FC are regulating Yangming,visceral qi and aiding defecation.The selec-tion of acupoints is mainly based on Yang meridian,focusing on specific acupoints,local selection of acupoints and distal selection of acupoints,and the compatibility principle of"combination of adjacent and remote acupoints".At the same time,the combination of disease differentiation and point selection combined with syndrome differentiation.
