Potential role of m6A RNA methylation in rheumatic immune diseases
This paper provides an overview of the literature on m6A,focusing on N6-methyladenine(m6A)methyltransferase,m6A demethylase, and m6A reading protein. It delves into the specific role of m6A RNA methyla-tion in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and systemic lupus erythematosus.Research has found that m6A RNA methylation is implicated in the pathogenesis of rheumatic immune diseases by promoting synovial cell proliferation, inducing fibroblast-like changes, and regulating various immune cells and bone cells. Therefore, gaining further insight into the potential molecular mechanisms of m6A in rheumatic immune diseases can offer new perspectives for exploring disease pathogenesis and identifying precise targets for developing new drugs as well as traditional Chinese medicine interventions.
