Finite element study on the influence of mandrel roll diameter on hot rolling deformation of special shaped ring
Based on the Simufact software,a three-dimensional finite element model of the large shaped cross section ring rolling was established,and the ring rolling process of the big size deformed section ring was simulated.The influence of the mandrel roll diameter on the equivalent strain,rolling force and ring size during hot rolling of the ring was revealed.The results showed that in the radial pass,the flow resistance of the metal in the surface of the ring was increased with the increase of the diameter of the mandrel roll,which reduced the equivalent strain at the inner surface of the ring.But in the axial direction,there was no obvious change in the upper and lower surfaces.The contact area became larger between mandrel roll and inner surface of the ring,which caused more metal plastic deformation and made the radial rolling force bigger.While there was no obvious change in the trend of axial rolling force.In the dimension of the ring,the influence of the diameter of the mandrel roll on the size of the ring was not obvious.
