Effect of the coating structure on the properties of grain-oriented silicon steel
The cross sectional images of the grain-oriented silicon steel coating were observed by scanning electron rmiaroscope. The effects of the coating structure on the layer resistance, adhesion and iron loss of the steel were researched. The results showed that it was the combined reaction of the pinning layer, the magnesium coating and the phosphate coating that affected the properties of the steel. The poor quality of the glass film led to low insulation and magnetic property. The pinning layer had a great effect on the iron loss. When the pinning layer was 3 μm,the iron loss was low and had an excellent adhesion. The steel had a better adhesion when the magnesium coating was more tmiform and compact. The combination of the thickness of glass film and phosphate coating affected the layer resistance of the steel.Under the same thickness d glass film, increasing the thickness d the phesphate coating could help improve the layer resistance of the steel.
