Development of SCM415 steel used for automobile transmission machinery
SCM415 steel with Cr and Mo element used for automobile transmission machinery was developed by the process of "EAF-EBT-LF-CC-CR".The steel chemical composition,microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated.The results showed that the chemical composition of the SCM415 steel was uniformity,the microstructure as hot rolled was pearlite and ferrite,and the nonmetallic inclusions were mainly sulfide and oxide.The tensile tests indicated that the SCM415 steel had high strength toughness which could meet the requirements of the automobile transmission machinery.
