Analysis on Temporal and Spatial Evolution Characteristics of Farmland Conversion in Henan Province
Understanding and mastering the characteristics and underlying reasons for the spatial-temporal evolution of cultivated land"non-agriculturalization"is of paramount importance to ensure food security.Based on the long-term spatial data of land use in Henan from 1980 to 2020,the second largest grain-producing province in China, this paper adopts the methods of gravity shift model and spatial autocorrelation analysis. To provide a solid foundation for the protection and sustainable use of cultivated land resources in Henan Province, this study quantitatively examines the spatial distribution patterns,temporal-spatial migration routes, and agglomeration characteristics of cultivated land"non-agriculturalization"across 158 county-level units from 1980 through to 2020.The results show that:(1)the distribution of cultivated land resources in Henan Province varies greatly from east to west. The contiguous cultivated land is mainly concentrated in the east, and the total cultivated land fluctuated and decreased over time.(2)There are large spatial and temporal differences in the"de-agriculturalization"level of cultivated land.The"de-agriculturalization"of cultivated land in western Henan is relatively gentle, while it first rises rapidly and then decreases slowly in the central and eastern regions.(3)The spatial imbalance of"non-agricultural conversion"of cultivated land in Henan Province has increased, the spatial pattern has fluctuated slightly, and the center of gravity of"non-agricultural conversion"of cultivated land moved first to the southeast and southwest and then to the northeast.(4)The spatial distribution pattern of"non-agriculturalization"of cultivated land in Henan Province has shown an agglomeration characteristic in four periods, with the degree of spatial agglomeration increasing first and then decreasing, and the dominant pattern changing to"high-high"and"low-low"clustering.This study reveals the spatio-temporal evolution pattern of the"non-agricultural conversion"of cultivated land in Henan Province from 1980 to 2020,providing reference for the government to control the phenomenon of"non-agricultural conversion"and realize the sustainable development of cultivated land resources.
