Evaluation and potential analysis of land suitability for wind power projects in Inner Mongolia
In order to reduce energy pressure,China is currently actively developing wind power industry. As an important national energy and strategic resource base,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has greater development potential. This paper constructs the evaluation index system of land suitability for wind power projects in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region based on the actual situation. The index weights are determined by combined weighting method.Based on meteorological data, topographic data and some thematic data, combined with GIS technology, the suitability zoning of land for wind power projects in the whole region is obtained. After the potential area of land use is obtained by modifying it through relevant policy factors,Vestas V90 is selected as the reference machine for wind power generation calculation to predict the power generation of the whole area. The result shows that the evaluation value of land suitability for wind power project development in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is between 0.73 and 2.79,mainly in the more suitable area, with an area of 728,000 km².The total area suitable for construction of high potential area is 315,900 km² after the modification of use restriction factors.Taking Vestas V90 wind turbines as a reference, the total number of units that can be installed in the region is 1,579,500 units, with an annual generating capacity of about 7.42 trillion kWh,which has huge power generation potential.
