The impact of recessive transformation of county land use on urban-rural integration development:based on the perspective of the mediating effect of tural-urban spatial structure
Studying the impact mechanism of land use recessive transformation on the integration of urban and rural development is of great significance for achieving urban-rural integration and the Chinese-style modernization.Based on panel data from counties in Jiangsu province from 2010 to 2021,this paper empirically studies the mediating role of urban-rural spatial structure in the relationship between recessive transformation of land use and urban-rural integrated development using a mediation effect model. The results show that land use recessive transformation can significantly promote urban-rural integration development, but its impact gradually weakens over time.In addition, the level of agricultural mechanization, density of transportation network, population density, and per capita social retail sales can promote urban-rural integration development, while per capita GDP,government control, and economic openness have inhibitory effects. The promotion effect of land use recessive transformation on urban-rural integration development varies in the three major regions, with the impact effect showing a"Central Jiangsu>Northern Jiangsu>Southern Jiangsu"characteristic. The recessive transformation of land use can further promote urban-rural integrated development through the evolution of urban-rural spatial structure.Establishing a robust control system for the recessive transformation of land use, optimizing urban-rural spatial structure, strengthening regional differentiated policies, and improving mechanisms for the flow of urban-rural elements are important pathways to promote urban-rural integration.
