Design and Implementation of a Physiological Signs Monitoring System for beef cattle based on Smart Ear Tags
In recent years, the scale of the beef cattle industry has been continuously expanding. To address issues such as poor real-time monitoring and low accuracy in traditional manual management methods,a beef cattle physiological monitoring system based on smart ear tags has been designed by combining information-sensing technology.By gathering data on the cattle's body temperature and level of activity, the smart ear tags enable real-time monitoring of the whole growth cycle, which improves the scientific and practicality of the management process. This article first analyzes the overall structure and functions of the monitoring system and then discusses key hardware, workflow, and communication technology in detail. The system was then tested on-site at a beef cattle farm in Inner Mongolia. The results demonstrate that the designed system can monitor beef cattle physiological data in real-time and provide users with statistical, analytical, management, and early warning functions. This allows users to promptly understand and grasp the physiological status of the cattle, with features such as good reliability and strong anti-interference capability. This system has practical application value in improving the growth rate of beef cattle, achieving disease prevention and control,as well as reducing management costs, which meets the design requirements.
