Revisiting the"Psychic Trauma"of Cognitive Capitalism and the Construction of"Digital Civilization"
Humanity has entered the era of cognitive capitalism, where the mode of capital accumulation has expanded from traditional physical and basic intellectual labor to a deep exploitation of laborers'attention, emotions, and psyche, resulting in"psychic trauma".This trauma manifests as the commodification of the mind, cognitive dulling, subject displacement, and loss of sense of future. In contemporary Western social theory, the notion of"quit everything"has become a popular cultural-psychological approach to addressing this"psychic trauma".While these theories move beyond a narrow focus on individual mental health by framing the issue within the context of cognitive capitalism, they ultimately argue that transformation in mindset is essential.Based on a critique of political economy, reconstructing digital civilization requires not only transforming capitalist modes of production but also resolving technical issues through technological solutions and returning to creative practice within the framework of hope-centered philosophy.
