Analysis on the Crack Causes of 35CrMo Ingot Billet
A number of small cracks in the inner hole wall had been found in 35CrMo hydraulic chamber steel ingot sample billet during the finishing process.In order to find the cause of cracks,the sample was taken for chemical composition analysis,macroscopic examination,metallographic examination and EDS analysis.The results showed that the microcracks of ingot samples in hydraulic chamber were white spot defects during forging.The main factors causing the formation of white spot defects ware analyzed,inclu-ding hydrogen concentration,internal stress(mainly tissue stress)and inclusion,on the basis of the main preventive measures for white spot defects were put forward.
