Common Problems and Preventive Measures of Gas Carburization
A brief introduction was given to gas carburizing process,combined with the actual production situation,common carburization quality problems were introduced and the causes were analyzed,including the carbon potential was not up to standard due to the unqualified penetrant.Uneven carburization layer caused by surface contamination of workpieces,equipment fan failure or large furnace loading of workpiec-es.Due to improper operation after carburization,the surface of the workpiece was decarburized.Cracking caused by high carbon concentration on the surface of the workpiece.The lack of refinement in the carburi-zation process lead to excessive carburization layer.Preventive measures for quality control in the carburiza-tion process had been proposed,including personnel training,process material control,equipment manage-ment,control system upgrade,process optimization and on-site supervision,to ensure stable and reliable gas carburization quality.
