Study on the Quenching&Tempering Technology and Properties of 40CrNiMo Steel
The effects of different quenching and tempering processes on the mechanical properties of 40CrNiMo steel used for wind power fasteners were studied by tensile and impact tests. The results show that too low quenching temperature and too short holding time will lead to insufficient heating of the material and reduce the strength of the material.Too high quenching temperature and too long holding time will lead to austenite grain growth of the material, thus reducing the toughness and plasticity of the material. When the quenching temperature is 860℃and the holding time is 80 min,the 40CrNiMo steel with φ56 mm has high strength and good toughness and plasticity. When the tempering temperature is 540 to 580℃and the holding time is 150 min,the 40CrNiMo steel of φ56 mm has good comprehensive mechanical properties after quenching and tempering treatment, and can effectively meet the performance requirements of wind power fasteners.
