Analysis of disease course among COVID-19 patients and the influencing factors
Objective To analyze the course of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)among the patients and analyze the influencing factors,so as to provide scientific proof for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.Methods From May 9 to June 25 2023,the information of the COVID-19 patients in communities of Beijing, including age, gender, incidence of underlying diseases,COVID-19 vaccination, previous infections and relevant information of the current COVID-19 were collected.Quantile regression analysis was used to analyze the impact of the above factors on the course of COVID-19.Results The disease courses among 787 COVID-19 patients investigated in the study were 4.0 d(IQR 2.0-7.0).Univariate analysis showed that gender(x2=4.788,P=0.029),age(x2=6.118,P=0.047)and previous infection(x2=17.364,P<0.01)were the influencing factors of the disease course.Quantile regression showed that the disease course in women was 1 day longer than that in men(t=2.78,P=0.006).The disease course among patients with previous infection was 1.5 d shorter than the primarily infected patients(t=-4.21,P<0.01).Conclusions The course of COVID-19 among primarily infected patients was longer than that of patients with previous infections and should be paid sufficient attention.
