Epidemiological and etiological characteristics of influenza in a hospital in Xicheng district of Beijing,2020-2023
Objective To study on the epidemiological and etiological characteristics of influenza in Beijing Friendship Hospital from January 2020 to March 2023,so as to provide references for influenza epidemic prevention and control.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the epidemiological data of 7166 confirmed influenza patients in our hospital from January 2020 to March 2023.Descriptive analysis was used to describe epidemiological characteristics of influenza.SPSS 26.0 statistics software was used for statistical analysis of the data.Results Among the 7 166 influenza patients,6 662 were cases of influenza A(92.97%),502 were cases of influenza B(7.00%),and 2 were cases of mixed infection(0.03%).There were 3 717 males(51.87%)and 3 449 females(48.13%).There was no statistically significant difference in the number of influenza cases between genders(P>0.05).The number of cases was the highest in age group of 0-6 years old(2 137),while the number of cases was lowest in the group of 60 years old and above(473).Among the groups attacked in influenza outbreak,students(college students,and students in primary and secondary schools)were the main occupational group,with a total number of 2059 cases(28.73%).In 2020,influenza occurred mainly in January(1 070).Sporadic cases were detected occasionally in February and April.There were 7 influenza cases in 2021,including 4 in January.In 2022,more influenza cases were diagnosed,mainly on January(122),March(106),August(194)and September(106).On March 2023,reached peak(4 951).Conclusions The prevalence of influenza was rather during 2020-2022 and returned to higher level in 2023 with delayed peak time of influenza.The dominant type of influenza virus was type A influenza virus.The incidence was high in children under 18 years old.
