Relationship between EGFR gene polymorphism and the risk and prognosis of prostate cancer
Objective To analyze the relationship between EGFR gene polymorphism and the risk and prognosis of prostate cancer(PCa).Methods From January 2018 to January 2020,100 pa-tients with prostate cancer treated in our hospital were selected as the study group, and 100 healthy men who underwent physical examination in our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The genotypes of EGFR gene rs884419 in the two groups were detected, and Sanger method was used to verify the balance, and the relationship between EGFR gene rs884419 GG,AG and AA types and the clinical characteristics, prostate cancer susceptibility and prognosis of patients with prostate cancer was observed. Results Compared with the control group, the proportion of EGFR gene rs884419 genotype GG decreased in the study group, and the proportion of AG and AA genotype increased, with statistical significance(all P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differ-ences in PSA level and Gleason score between EGFR rs884419 genotype GG,AG,AA and PCa pa-tients(all P>0.05),but there were statistically significant differences in clinical stage and metastasis stage(all P<0.05).The pathological stages of stage Ⅰ to Ⅱ in GG patients were higher than that of stage Ⅲ to Ⅳ,those of stage Ⅰ to Ⅱ in AG and AA patients were lower than that of stage Ⅲ to Ⅳ,M0 in GG patients was higher than M,in metastatic stage, and M0 in AG and AA patients was lower than M1(all P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that AG and AA genotypes at rs884419 of EGFR gene were associated with the risk of PCa,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The 2-year survival rate and mortality of PCa patients were 80.00%and 20.00%.Con-clusions EGFR rs884419 locus is associated with the risk and prognosis of prostate cancer.EGFR rs884419 genotype AA can significantly increase disease susceptibility and mortality.
