Clinical significance of cystatin C and β2-microglobulin in radical prostatectomy
Objective To investigate the clinical significance of cystatin C(Cys C)and be-ta2-microglobulin(β2-MG)in patients with prostate cancer underwent radical prostatectomy. Methods The clinical data of 63 patients who underwent radical prostatectomy in our center from January 2019 to January 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The correlation between Cys C and β2-microglobulin levels and tumor burden after radical prostatectomv was analyzed. Results The ()3,6,and 12 months post-operation were significantly lower compared to pre-operation levels, with the differences being statistically significant(all P<0.05).Similarly,the levels of β2-MG at 1 month,3,and 6 months post-operation were significantly lower than pre-operation levels, also with statistically significant differences(all P<0.05).Conclusions Cys C and β2-MG can serve as important indica-tors for monitoring the efficacy of radical prostatectomy.Furthermore, they hold potential as biomarkers for assessing tumor burden and prognosis in prostate cancer.
