Correlation and analysis of E-cadherin expression and prognosis in patients with bladder cancer
Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate whether E-cadherin expres-sion is related to disease progression and survival in patients with bladder cancer. Methods A total of 153 patients with bladder cancer who underwent bladder biopsy in our hospital from January 2016 to January 2018 were selected as the research objects.Bladder cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues>5 cm away from the primary lesion of all patients were collected. The positive rate of E-cad-herin expression in bladder cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues was compared, the expression of E-cadherin in incipient and recurrent bladder cancer tissues was observed, and the risk factors of re-current bladder cancer were analyzed by Cox regression model. Results The positive rate of E.calcin in adjacent normal tissues was 90%(138/153),which was significantly higher than that in bladder tumor tissues[52%(80/153)],and the difference was statistically significant(x2=9.29,P<0.05).The positive rates of E-cadherin in patients with primary bladder cancer and recurrent bladder cancer were 65%(65/100)and 30%(16/53),respectively,and the difference was statistically signif-icant(x2=15.33,P<0.05).Multivariate Cox regression model analysis showed that E-cadherin posi-tive expression was an independent factor influencing the recurrence of bladder cancer(P<0.05).Con-clusions E-cadherin expression is closely related to the prognosis of patients with bladder cancer.
