The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus has risen significantly over the past 30 years,seriously affecting human health and life expectancy.However,in the field of individualised prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus,China still lacks appropriate guidelines or expert consensus.Therefore,the Endocrine Diabetes Professional Committee of China's Non-public Medical Institutions invited a number of experts in the field of endocrinology to discuss the issue and formulated the Consensus of Chinese experts on strengthening personalized prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.This article provides a comprehensive interpretation of the management concept of type 2 diabetes mellitus,individualised therapeu-tic strategies,and precision medicine in conjunction with the latest research advances,with the aim of provi-ding clinical practitioners with advice on individualised type 2 diabetes mellitus diagnosis and treatment.
