Objective This paper attempts to explore the expression of long non-coding RNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 5(lncRNA SNHG5,hereinafter referred to as SNHG5)and SNHG11 in serum of colorectal cancer patients and their diagnosis value for colorectal cancer.Methods A total of 72 CRC patients treated with CRC radical resection at the First Hospital of Qinhuangdao from January 2015 to March 2018 were selected as the study subjects(assigned to the CRC group)while 61 patients with colorectal polyps treated in the same hospital in the same period were selected as the colorectal polyp group,and 59 healthy volunteers who underwent physical examinations in the same hospital were selected as the healthy control group.The expression of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 was detected by real-time quantitative PCR,and the relationship between the expression of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 and clinicopathological features of CRC was analyzed.The ROC curve was used to evaluate the efficacy of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 in the diagnosis of CRC.The relationship between the expression of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 and disease-free survival was analyzed by using the Kaplan-Meier method.Results Compared with the healthy control group,the relative expression levels of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 in the colorectal polyp group and the CRC group are higher,and the relative expression levels of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 in the CRC group are higher than those in the colorectal polyp group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The relative expression levels of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 of CRC patients with low differentiation,stage Ⅲ,serosal invasion and lymph node metastasis are higher than those of CRC patients with medium or high differentiation,stage Ⅱ,no serosal invasion and lymph node metastasis,respectively,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The ROC curve analysis shows that the AUC of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 is higher than that of single detection,and the sensitivity and specificity of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 are higher than those of single detection.The disease-free survival rates of the SNHG5 low expression group and the SNHG11 low expression group are higher than those of the SNHG5 high expression group and the SNHG11 high expression group,respectively,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusions The expression of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 of CRC patients is up-regulated,and is closely related to disease-free survival.The combined detection of serum SNHG5 and SNHG11 is more effective in the diagnosis of CRC.
