Objective This paper attempts to investigate the correlation between serum levels of immunoinflammatory associated protein complexes(IIRPCs),CC chemokine ligand 11(CCL11)and adipocyte cytokine(Chemerin),and the recurrence of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).Methods A total of 214 IBD patients admitted to Xi'an Fengcheng Hospital from April 2021 to October 2022 were selected as the study objects, including 122 UC patients and 92 CD patients.According to whether the disease recurred after treatment, the UC patients were assigned to the UC recurrent group(54 cases)and the UC non-recurrence group(68 cases),while the CD patients were assigned to the CD recurrent group(41 cases)and the CD non-recurrence group(51 cases). The clinical data and the levels of IIRPCs,CCL11,and Chemerin were compared between the UC recurrent group and the UC non-recurrent group, the CD recurrent group and the CD non-recurrent group. The ROC curve was used to analyze the efficacy of serum IIRPCs,CCL11,and Chemerin in predicting IBD recurrence. The Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between serum IIRPCs,CCL11,and Chemerin levels, and their correlation with clinicopathological features of IBD patients. Results The modified Mayo endoscopic score,WBC,ESR,CRP,IIRPCs,CCL11,Chemerin,D-lactic acid, endotoxin,DAO levels,Escherichia coli, and Enterococcus in the UC recurrent group are higher than those in the UC non-recurrent group, while Hb,Lactobacillus,Bifidobacterium, and Peptococcus are lower than those in the UC non-recurrent group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The CDAI score,WBC,ESR,CRP,IIRPCs,CCL11,Chemerin,D-lactic acid, endotoxin,DAO levels,Escherichia coli, and Enterococcus in the CD recurrent group are higher than those in the CD non-recurrent group, while Hb,Lactobacillus,Bifidobacterium, and Peptococcus are lower than those in the CD non-recurrent group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The ROC curve analysis shows that the area under the curve(AUC)of serum IIRPCs,CCL11,and Chemerin in predicting UC recurrence are 0.641,0.696,and 0.662(P<0.05).The AUC of serum IIRPCs,CCL11,and Chemerin in predicting CD recurrence are 0.728,0.720,and 0.691(P<0.05),respectively.The Pearson correlation analysis indicates that the serum IIRPCs is positively correlated with CCL11(r=0.678,and P<0.001),and the serum IIRPCs is positively correlated with Chemerin level(r=0.730,and P<0.001),and the CCL11 is positively correlated with Chemerin(r=0.664,and P<0.001).The serum IIRPCs,CCL11,and Chemerin are positively correlated with disease activity score,WBC,ESR,CRP,D-lactic acid, endotoxin, and DAO levels, the number of Escherichia coli and Enterococcus respectively, while they are negatively correlated with the Hb level,Lactobacillus,Bifidobacterium, and Peptococcus, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusions The serum IIRPCs,CCL11,and Chemerin are significantly increased in patients with IBD recurrence, and their changes are closely related to faecal flora and intestinal mucosal function. The detection of these three indicators has certain value in predicting IBD recurrence.
