Research progress of drug prevention of esophageal stenosis after endoscopic submucosal dissection
Endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)is a minimally invasive operation to completely resect the overall mucosal lesions with the assistance of an endoscopy, which is often used for early esophageal cancer and precancerous lesions. However, the mucosal defect caused by ESD is very easy to cause esophageal stenosis, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. At present, many drugs have been tried for the prevention of ESD postoperative stenosis, and the most successful application is oral and local injection of glucocorticoids.Based on the causes and mechanisms of esophageal stenosis, this article reviewed the preventive drugs especially glucocorticoids for ESD postoperative stenosis.
