Effects of Zhenxin prescription on cardiac function,ventricular remodeling and energy metabolism in rats with pressure-load heart failure
Objective To investigate the effect of Zhenxin prescription on cardiac function in rats with abdominal aortic coarctation and heart failure(HF).Method Forty Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham operation group,model group,Zhenxin prescription group and bisoprolol group,with 10 rats in each group.Except the sham operation group,the other groups of rats were treated with abdominal aortic coarctation to establish the HF rat model.Zhenxin prescription group was given 5.6 g/kg/d of Zhenxin prescription suspension,bisoprolol group was given 1 mg/kg/d of bisoprolol fumarate suspension,sham operation group and model group were given the same amount of normal saline intragastric administration for 12 weeks.The contents of echocardiography,left ventricular mass index(LVMI),brain natriuretic peptide(BNP),aldosterone(ALD),angiotensin(Ang)Ⅱ,lactic acid,pyruvic and free fatty acid in all groups were compared.Results Compared with sham operation group,the serum contents of BNP,ALD,Ang Ⅱ,lactic acid,pyruvate and free fatty acid in model group were significantly increased(P<0.01).Compared with model group,Zhenxin prescription could increase left ventricular ejection fraction,improve myocardial tissue lesion,myocardial fibrosis and LVMI,and significantly decrease serum BNP,ALD,AngⅡ,pyruvate and free fatty acid(P<0.01).Conclusion Zhenxin prescription can effectively regulate heart function and improve ventricular remodeling in rats with HF,which may be related to reducing the accumulation of serum metabolites.
