A study on improvement of phlegm symptoms of bronchitis in children by ambroxol hydrochloride solution
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of inhaled ambroxol hydrochloride solution in improving the phlegm symptoms of bronchitis in children.Methods A total of 491 children with acute bronchitis from 46 centers in China from April 2021 to April 2022 were included and treated with atomized ambroxol hydrochloride solution for 7 days.The changes of cough score,laryngeal phlegm cry score and pulmonary auscultation score before and after treatment were observed and compared,and the improvement rate and clinical response rate of cough,laryngeal phlegm cry score and pulmonary auscultation score were analyzed.Results After treatment,the improvement rates of cough,phlegm in larynx,lung auscultation and the clinical response rate were 96.33％,88.59％,76.17％and 93.69％,respectively.Cough symptom score,laryngeal phlegm singing score and pulmonary auscultation score were significantly decreased with the extension of medication time,and the scores were significantly different before and after medication(P＜0.05).Disease subgroup analysis showed no significant difference in clinical effectiveness between groups regardless of bronchitis disease type or the history of allergies(P＞0.05).Conclusion Inhaled ambroxol hydrochloride solution can effectively improve the respiratory symptoms and signs of bronchitis in children with good safety.
