Emerging infectious diseases:a threat to human health
In recent years,the occurrence of sudden public health emergencies caused by Emerging Infectious Diseases(EID)has become increasingly frequent.EID,characterized by diverse pathogens,complex transmission routes,and universal sus-ceptibility among populations,often lacks specific diagnostic and treatment methods.Therefore,once outbreaks occur,they will have serious implications for human health,social stability,and national economies.This article starts by discussing the current status and main characteristics of EID outbreaks,analyzing and exploring response measures.It proposes the follow-ing strategies to address the continuous emergence of EID:incorporating EID prevention and control into the national securi-ty framework,emphasizing prevention as the primary approach and increasing investment in prevention,prioritizing the training of medical professionals,and strengthening public awareness and dissemination of relevant knowledge.
