Research advances in nutritional support for patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease(COPD)has a long course and is prone to recurrence, with many patients often suffering from malnutrition. This not only directly affects their lung function but also has a negative impact on their prognosis. Therefore, appropriate nutritional interventions such as enteral and parenteral nutrition support, and health man-agement are crucial for COPD patients.Currently, research on nutritional interventions for COPD focuses mainly on patients in the acute phase, with a lack of studies on stable-phase patients. To explore suitable nutritional interventions for patients with stable COPD,this article reviews the research progress on nutritional support for COPD patients in China and interna-tionally.The results indicate that appropriate nutritional interventions can effectively promote the treatment outcomes and prognosis of COPD patients, and the combined use of various nutritional interventions or integration with rehabilitation man-agement shows better results. In particular, combining nutritional intervention with community rehabilitation management is more beneficial for the prognosis of stable-phase COPD patients. This suggests that the community may become the main battleground for future COPD prevention and control, and researchers need to strengthen their studies in this area.
